Busan's districts differ sharply in terrain and pace. Nampo-dong runs on dense market streets, Yeongdo sits across the water on a hill, and Haeundae stretches along a long beach. Knowing how they connect makes each day easier to plan.
Curated day loops
Neighborhood day plans
Nampo-dong
Market streets to harbor edge
Start at the Nampo-dong subway station and walk the market lanes for street food and dried seafood stalls. Finish along the waterfront, where the port views and lighter crowds make a quiet end to the loop.
Yeongdo
Hillside viewpoints across the bay
Take the bus over Yeongdo's bridge and follow the hillside staircases toward the viewpoints. Plan for steep walking, and choose the coastal path back down for a slower route past fishing boats and small cafés.
Haeundae
Beach strip and quiet side streets
Haeundae works best as a morning walk. Follow the beach promenade, then turn inland onto residential side streets where local restaurants serve lunch to office workers. Subway access is straightforward from the beach area.
Jeonpo
Cafe lanes and the old town edge
Jeonpo is a compact area of narrow lanes, independent coffee shops, and older storefronts. Walk the lanes on foot, then continue toward the Gukje Market edge for a shorter loop that connects well with a subway transfer.
Plan the routes with the transit guide
Subway transfers and hillside bus connections decide how long each loop takes. Read the transit and survival notes before you set out.
